What clothes to wear on a helicopter flight?

In the helicopter, you are securely fastened in a seat with belts. Therefore, wear clothes in which you can move easily and sit well:

• Useful though: jeans, chinos, leggings with longer top, comfortable dress, jumper or blouse.
• Less convenient: extremely tight clothing that may pinch at the belts or while sitting.

Entry is via a step and sometimes a platform. With sturdy, flat shoes, you step in safely and easily.

• Do: trainers, flat shoes, sturdy booties.
• Rather not: high heels, slippers or shoes with a smooth sole.

High heels and unstable shoes can be awkward when boarding and are less safe on a windy platform.

👗 Take care with skirts and loose clothing

A skirt or dress is fine, but choose a model that is comfortable and gives enough room to move. Very short or flouncy skirts are less useful when boarding, especially in windy conditions. You should also avoid loose scarves or flapping clothes; they can get in the way when boarding or during security checks.

Inside the helicopter it is usually pleasant, but on the platform it can be chilly and windy, especially in the Netherlands. So match your outfit to the weather.
