From which airfields can you fly in a helicopter?

At 123Helikoptervluchten, we have a number of fixed airfields and departure locations in the Netherlands where you can take off directly for a helicopter flight, such as Hilversum, Lelystad, Harskamp, Emmen and other centrally located places for optimal accessibility.

From those fixed locations, you fly over regions, cities, natural areas or even your home area, depending on route and flight duration.

✈️ What about Teuge, Eelde, Texel, Breda/Seppe and other airfields?

You may have seen Teuge, Eelde, Texel, Breda/Seppe, Twente, Ameland and Hoogeveen listed on the website as places where you can take a helicopter flight (or fly over). However, we do not normally depart from these airfields. But there are options:

• You can, however, fly to the places mentioned as a destination or to fly over them (so the helicopter flies over them).
• If you really want to take off from one of the aforementioned locations, it is technically possible via a ferry flight (the empty positioning flight from our base to that airfield), but you pay extra for that.
• So: if you choose a flight from one of these airfields, bear in mind that the helicopter first has to come from Hilversum, Lelystad or another base. That empty flight (there and back) is charged on to you.

In practice, this means it is often much cheaper to drive to one of our fixed departure locations and start your helicopter flight there: you then only pay for the flight time of the actual flight, with no extra ferry costs.

But note: everything is possible by mutual agreement. If you have a special wish, we will be happy to discuss the possibilities.

💡 Why start from fixed locations?

• Lower costs: no extra resources or positioning of the helicopter in advance.
• Reliability: our pilots, crew and logistics are tuned in to those locations.
• Convenience for customers: better parking, facilities, maintenance & preparation on site.

🛫 What should you ask for when booking?

If you book through us, it's a good idea to ask the following questions so there are no surprises:

• From which airfield do we take off?
• Is a ferry flight needed to your preferred departure location? If so, what does it cost?
• How much extra flight time is needed for positioning there and back?
• Are there any specific permits or restrictions at the airfield you would like to use?
• Can we use an alternative departure location to save costs?

Would you like to fly from Teuge, Eelde or another airfield? We are happy to look at what is possible together, but bear in mind that there are often extra costs for ferry flights. In most cases, it is cheaper to drive to one of our fixed departure locations and take off from there. That said, everything can be discussed.
